If you think the SXM radio is useless but like the traffic, then you can pay for just the traffic service. There is one caveat (from siriusxm.com): When subscribing to these services without an active SiriusXM Satellite Radio subscription, a minimum 12-month term is required.

On thursday I hit my 1yr of ownership. I didnt realize it either, got in my truck and Sat radio didnt work. Sirius sent me papers about renewing online, I ended up paying my month. Not worth paying for 1yr and only saving $12.95.

I have a 2019 F150 with Sync3 and Navigation. Radio came with 3.3.19052 and the NA1.17 maps from the factory. I used the updater to take the radio to 3.4.19274 (To avoid the 20XXX bugs) with the NA1.19 maps. Upgrade seemed to work fine at first glance. Radio and maps updated to the new versions. Just playing around with the app during my free month, wondering which features do, and do not, work without a subscription? I know I'll lose remote unlock and start; but the navigation "send to in-dash navigation" seems potentially useful, since you can't enter any address while the car is in motion (even if I'm the passenger).

I let my OnStar trial period end without renewing on my 2015, but did use the app and have the limited features now for the next 5 years. Nice to have as a free service. I was playing with the app yesterday and noticed that I was able to send an address to my car's navigation using the app from a remote location.
