If YouTube videos stop playing after a few seconds in Google Chrome, try Firefox, Safari, IE, etc… Clear cookies, cache, history, temp files and disable your firewall to see if the "YouTube videos pause/freeze" problem is still there.

All videos stop playing after ~2 minutes. Doesn't matter what browser, if I disable all extensions. Any video I watch will freeze after 2 mins of being left alone (ie: not skipping ahead). If I try to pause start or skip ahead once frozen it will switch to "An error has occurred".

Firstly, ignoring those videos which 'stall', go back and check those Youtube videos which play successfully from beginning to end without stalling: if none of them show Youtube's new in-picture...

OliverLeitner commented on Apr 11, 2015. seems my youtube playback stopped working, ive tried with vlc/mpv/mplayer, all three of them stop after exactly 2 minutes and the players and mpsyt freeze in that way that i can only stop them by doing a kill -sigkill pid in the terminal. this started happening within this week.
